Stretch marks – causes and precautions!

Stretch marks come up as a very serious disaster against our beauty and can leave us distressed to a great extent. In this article I’ll be discussing about the causes that cause these marks to appear and some therapies towards its removal.
What causes these?
Stretch marks make their appearance in our body where there has been a damage in the elastic fibers of your skin. The most common occurrence of these are seen during post pregnancy when the body swells beyond what muscles are prepared for i.e. when stretching of the skin exceeds the elasticity of the muscles.
This can also be a result of sudden weight gain of the body. If a body puts on too much weight in a short span of time, stretch marks may appear around regions where there has been too much tension in the muscle fibers of the body.
Besides, ethnicity and heredity also play a role in the appearance of stretch many marks on your body. If you share a family history of women having stretch marks due to any reason, you may adopt it in your genes.
Stretch marks may appear as pink, reddish brown or dark brown depending on the complexion of your skin. However, after staying for a long time in your body they may take a silvery streaked look over a period of time. While the markets are loaded with creams and lotions that guarantee the removal of these marks, their claims are yet to be substantiated. But knowing which cream to go in for and how they function can help you pick the right medicine for the reduction of these, if not the absolute removal.
Creams that help towards the reduction of these are the ones which contain Tretinoin as their prime element. This helps in the reducing the length as well as the width of the mark. Besides, creams containing centella asiatica extract, alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) and collagen-elastin hydrolysates are most recommended for the removal of these. Women now a days are also rapidly going in for laser surgery to get an instant relief from this anomaly.
In my forth coming articles, I’ll be discussing in detail some more therapies that can help you combat stretch marks. Ideally I would recommend women to keep themselves exercising and fit so that there remains high elasticity in the body fiber. Don’t panic if you do see any traces of these in your body. Take it in your stride. If you have come to it, you will come through it as well.
