HAIR CARE

We all face this problem. Hair loss is as much part of our lives as waking up every morning. Some of us fret about it and discuss it with friends, mothers and grandmothers, others lather their scalps in oil of various kinds that promise miracle cures, while others still, simply collect the strands of fallen hair from their combs and chuck it in to the bins. After all, there is nothing much we can do about it. Isn’t it?
True, but only to an extent. This is because hair loss is natural process that you cannot stop completely. You should, however, worry, if your hair loss is excessive and constant.

THE ROOT CAUSE

But why does hair fall?
Experts believe that hair loss has many causes. Ninety-eight percent of the time these causes are linked with internal factors like diet and general health as opposed to external factors like pollution and chemical in water and cosmetics.

Hair, perhaps, is the most sensitive part of your body. So, a disturbance in any other part, be it mental or physical affects your hair before it reflects anywhere else. The growth of your hair is directly related to how healthy you are per se. So the healthier you are, the healthier your hair. No wonder, a bad diet is the most common reasons for hair loss.

Nutritional deficiency is the most common reason for hair fall. This has nothing to do with eating in good quantity. We may eat well but not enough for the hair to keep its luster. It is essential to include protein and iron in your regular diet for healthy hair. If you don’t, its you who will suffer.

FIX IT
One of the first things our grandmothers tell us when we complain of hair loss is to have oil massage every second day.

No wonder the market is full of oils and shampoos that promise us all kinds of miracles. But do they really work? Is it possible to improve the quality of your hair using such products?

Some followers of the ayurveda believe that scalp has a lipid membrane that is receptive to any kind of liquid. Hair oil penetrates into the roots and nourishes the hair shaft, making each strand of hair healthier.

However, others do not agree. They believe that it has been medically proven that oil cannot enter the hair follicles at all. Al that hair oil does is act like a conditioner that helps us make the top layer smooth.

Hair fall is a natural process and some amount of it will definitely happen. An average person loses 50 to 100 strands daily, but anything more than that, and you should take an expert advice.
