Dry skin remedies!
![]() |
Dry skin in itself demands a lot of care and can pose all the more serious trouble for women during the winter months. Since it contains less of moisture, it is susceptible to crack down or develop lines and wrinkles much faster than other skin types. Hence, it a mandate for women with this skin type to employ special measures to combat this condition.
The biggest hazard that dry skin poses to women is aging and needless to say aging can make you look older than your actually age, causing you dry spots or blemishes on your face as well as the entire body. The best way is to combat it is to firstly look for a cream that contains AHA or Alpha Hyrdoxy Acids as they are called. You must keep your face moist all the time by applying moisturizer at least once during the day after washing it with mild water.
Once again in the night, you must clean your face with lukewarm water and then further cleanse it with a cleansing agent followed by a toning. In the night, you must preferably use a cream rich in AHA’s or Vitamin C. Yes, Vitamin C is the most nutritious food for the skin and using it can completely transform your skin from being dry and flaky to soft and supple. You’ll completely forget that you ever had a skin as dry.
Ideally night creams of most brands contain both Vitamin C as well as AHA but it will be best if you see for yourself first and then buy the product. Make sure that the products are as herbal and not synthetic.
Now if your skin has become too flaky, looks red and have developed some itchy patches that scab, you must immediately consult a doctor to rule out any signs of Eczema.
Eczema, also called atopic dermititis, is generally considered to be hereditary and can also occur throughout the year. Sometimes these can result from allergies caused due to different fabrics as well such as wool or polyester. So make sure you observe what worsens your skin’s condition. Skin-care products also can be a factor causing this at times; detergents have also been found to cause eczema at times. So if you see that your reddishness is simply not subsiding, use only the cream prescribed by your doctor and start wearing natural fabrics like cotton to help you avoid such flare-ups.
So keeping the skin hydrated is the key to having your dry skin as supple and nourished. Its needs some extra care but you’ll be surprised at the results once you employ these skin-care techniques!
