Common make-up glitches!
![]() |
We most often talk about all kind of make-up tips to adorn our face the best way we can but what we miss are the ways in which we can fix our make-up if something goes wrong at the least hour. I am sure you will agree with me. Make-up glitches are a common occurrence and it is as important knowing how to fix it as it is to know how to apply make-up in the first place. Smearing of the mascara or the lipstick is something we often confront so here I am with tips that’ll be your best aide in such situations.
Mascara!
How many times have you seen mascara smearing or sticking under the eyes when you are about to step out of the house or meet someone the next minute? Well, quite often isn’t it? Alright there are a couple of quick fixes you can employ. If you have some time at your disposal, then just let the mascara dry. Then take a clean Q-tip and brush it dry from above or under your eyes. If you are in haste, then all you have to do is dip the Q-tip in either glycerin or rose water and neatly remove the smear.
When i say neat, it means avoid removing the foundation from underneath the eye. If that happens, then dip another Q-tip in the foundation and apply it gently once again. Do not panic. It often causes your hands to shake and you may end up causing more damage to your make-up. Be calm and relaxed as it is just a trivial hitch.
Lipstick!
If you are in for an important lunch with a client and see that your lipstick has smeared down along the fine lines of your mouth, this is what you are supposed to do. In order to avoid such a thing in the first place is to use a primer or a lip liner as the base before applying the lipstick. However, if you still see your lipstick spilling from the lower lips, clean your lipstick brush in the make-up remover, dip it a bit in the foundation and use it to dissolve the smeared lipstick to get the natural color back to the skin.
If the lipstick has turned out to be a shade much darker than you expected, then apply a natural beige color over the top to soften the look. Never think of removing the lipstick and applying it all over again in such a case. Applying a layer of nude shade is the best remedy to neutralize the color. Ideally the more layers you apply, the lighter the color of the lipstick will become.
On the other hand if it is evening time, you can apply sheers in the form of gold and silver metallic shades over your lipstick to soften its color. This combination works wonders if that glitzy, yet a subtle look is what you want to get on the occasion. Avoid this look in the day as it looks best only in the night.
Nevertheless, if you want to render a bright look to your lipstick in the daytime, use a bright/darker lip liner with a softer shade of the same tone within.
These tips are going to be your ally for the rest of your life so keep them with you forever! Wish you all sunshine!
