CHOOSE HEALTHY FOOD AND GET HEALTHY SKIN

Many of us do not believe in old resolutions, and anything related to the past. The old saying, “you are what you eat” applies to our overall health and nutrition, as well as to how our skin seems and. As the largest and the most sensitive organ in the body, our skin can benefit to a large extent from the same nutrition we get from foods that have a very positive effect on our heart and other important organs. Interestingly, new research study also suggests that eating foods that are rich in protein and certain vitamins and minerals prove to provide valuable anti-aging effects

Healthy food, healthy skin
The finest way to keep a healthy, balanced diet and ensure the skin is getting required nutrition from the foods we eat is to follow certain recommendations a they will show the result and keep your skin healthy. Such as:

Choose and eat at least 3 ounces of whole grain breads, cereals, rice crackers or pasta.

Start eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including more dark green and orange vegetables in your diet as they give needed nutrition.

Consuming calcium-rich foods is very beneficial, fat-free or low-fat milk and other dairy products include in the same.

Opting for a variety of low-fat or lean meats, poultry and fish is another good idea.

These contain a healthy diet that has valuable vitamins and minerals that have proven health benefits for our bodies. Researches have shown that the antioxidants in vitamins C and E protect the skin from sun damage to a great extent and help minimize damage in skin cells which is caused by harmful free radicals, that contribute to aging of the skin. Similarly, we have long known that the B vitamin biotin is mainly responsible for forming the basis of skin, hair as well as the nail cells, and vitamin A – which is found in many of the fruits and vegetables – helps in maintaining and repairing the skin tissues. an adequate supply of these vitamins is essential, and without it you may notice the appearance of your skin, hair and nails a bit dull.

The direct link between food consumption and skin damage has yet not widely studied and researched, one study studying and comparing the correlation between food and nutrient intake with skin wrinkling found a positive relationship. The study, “Skin Wrinkling: Can Food Make a Difference?” published in the February 2001 issue of the Journal of the American College of Nutrition, determined that Swedish subjects aged 70 and older had the least skin wrinkling in a sun-exposed site among the four ethnic groups studied. This was a cross-sectional study, studied the collected data using the major food groups, suggested “that subjects with a higher intake of vegetables, olive oil, and monounsaturated fat and legumes, but a lower intake of milk/dairy products, butter, margarine and sugar products had lesser skin wrinkling in a sun-exposed site.”

More studies are needed to be able to check and determine the long-term benefits of food on our skin. The simplest way to keep fit and make your skin glow is by eating a variety of healthy foods and drinking plenty of water. By following these simple rules the skin stays hydrated which helps most people improve the appearance of their skin.
