Beautiful hair,Beautiful you

There is nothing quite as beautiful as HAIR that’s lustrous and luxuriant. Pretty tresses cascading down a back is the stuff that makes heads turn. Everyone of us wish to have shining hair. People try a lot to make there hair look better. The foremost thing is to know what kind of hair texture one has then accordingly should maintain. Here’s how you can make your hair look its best.

DRY HAIR: Dry hair is brittle and breaks very easily because of inactive oil glands, over exposure to sun, harsh hair care products and various chemical treatments. Dry hair needs a lot of care and nourishment.

FIGHT IT: get an oil massage at least twice a week. Use a mild shampoo with a good nourishing-cum- moisturizing conditioner after every wash which would give extra strength to your hair. Use deep conditioning hair mask at least once a month. Avoid using dryer and electric curlers that would only make your hair drier.

LIMP HAIR: Fine textured hair has fewer cuticle layers thus they break easily, clumps together and sticks to the scalp thus appearing limp and flat.

FIGHT IT: Use a volumising conditioner to add body to your hair. To encourage hair volume try to get a layered haircut.

FRIZZY HAIR: Your hair expands and changes the shape when your hair is not conditioned because it absorbs moisture from the air.

FIGHT IT: Condition your hair regularly. Put some hair gel or smoothening cream when your hair is wet to make the surface smooth. Do not use chemical treatments.

OILY HAIR: Due to improper diet or hormone swings your scalp produces lot of oil. It can also happen if the shampoo is not rinsed off properly.

FIGHT IT: Wash your hair everyday thoroughly with attention to the scalp. Do not use much of styling products so as to avoid oil build-ups. During blow-drying use a low setting as heat activates oil glands.

“The hair is the richest ornament of women.”

The science of hair extensions!

Hair extensions are one of the best inventions in the field of beauty as they help us get any size of locks, thereby adding on to our charm and personality within no time. The ordeal of waiting for years to have long hair and then maintaining them such that they forever remain young is yet another task not many of us can easily achieve. But many a times, I have had great number of women asking me if these hair extensions are wigs and so in this article I’ll be answering all of those questions in detail.

Hair extensions are not wigs. They are called hair extensions because like our normal hair, they are added to our scalp in a way such that it looks as if they are a part of the real hair. Let me tell you how this goes. Hair extensions are actually placed on a small portion of your hair. Both your hair as well as the hair extension has an anchor called keratin which is attached to 3-6 hair strands through the application of heat. This secures hair extensions to your natural hair.

There is another method for applying hair extensions which involves your hair to be braided into slender, flat cornrows in order to make them function as an anchor. Then the sections of hair extensions are secured to each of these cornrows by sewing the braid and section of hair together at the extension base, called as the weft. This is one of the most classic methods for attaching hair extensions to the scalp.

Most people prefer this method because, when applied by an expert, it guarantees the growth of your natural hair causing no damage to them what so ever. This may take one full day and you might have to spend the entire day at the salon. However, there is an alternative to this well. If you are short of time, you can choose another hair extension application technique such as bonding or gluing. The glued hair extensions are relatively applied faster, taking no longer than two to three hours. You must always consider the amount of extensions to be added and the level of expertise of your stylist because that is what will ultimately determine the application time, ideally.

And needless to say that all hair extensions, regardless of the application method, will wear and blend beautifully with your natural hair when applied by an expert. There are certain instructions that need to be followed when it comes to brushing, washing and styling, though.
