Dark circles

Dark circles under the eyes are a common issue these days. Dark circles are the second most common dermatological complaint acne being the first.So, if you have them, don’t panic instead follow a few remedies.
Dark circles under eyes usually are temporary. They are considered to be the most common non hormonal skin problem. The skin under the eye is extremely thin and delicate which is vulnerable to damage.
Dark circles under the eyes often appear when the skin under the eyes becomes thin and more transparent as a person naturally ages. As we get exposed to sun rays, the skin under the eyes gets damaged and becomes more thin and wrinkled.
What Causes Dark Circles?
* Heredity is one of the causes of dark circles. The genes related to dark circles are actually the genes that cause weakened capillaries in the skin around your eyes.
* Lack of sleep makes your skin pale, which makes your dark circles more prominent .Fatigue or illness also makes your dark circles much more noticeable.
* Age makes dark circles even worse. When the skin is thin it allows the discoloration of dark circles to be seen more easily, and dark circles become much more prominent.
* Lack of vitamins can cause dark circles under the eyes. This is relatively uncommon. If you are not eating a balanced healthy diet, you may see dark circles under your eyes.
* Many doctors consider dark circles as an indication of allergies
* Fluid retention causes puffiness and cast shadows.
* Exposure to the sun can exacerbate your dark circles. Sunlight darkens the skin by raising melanin levels and bringing melanin to the surface of the skin.
REMEDIES:
1. Identify allergens. Allergies may be the most common cause of skin discoloration under the eyes.
2. Don’t compromise with your sleep.
3. Apply cool tea bags, an ice cube wrapped in soft cloth, or cucumber slices to your eyes daily.
4. Doing pranayam for five minutes everyday can also help in removing dark circles.
5. Apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol. Dark circles may be caused by a deficiency of vitamin K.
6. Avoid rubbing your eyes.
7. Apply cucumber or potato juice with cotton balls.
8. Eat a healthy and balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
9. Dip cotton balls in rose water and keep them on your eyes for 5-10 minutes.
10. Reduce your salt intake. Too much salt can reduce your circulation, and cause the blood vessels under the skin to appear bluer.
11. Quit smoking.
