Avoid holiday weight gain

Holidays are the peak time of gaining weight. When you sit back and relax that is the time you gain the extra kilos that may be harmful for you overall health. Weight gain might make make you lazy and sleepy all the time. You don’t feel energetic and lively and often have mood swings.
Holidays no doubt are fun. We all enjoy to go out on family holidays so that we get to spend some quality time with our family. But often holidays lead to weight gain. It happens to almost everyone.
Tips on how to avoid holiday weight gain:
• Stay energetic and active. Try avoiding sitting ideal. Indulge yourself in some activity or another. Keep yourself busy.
• Try exercising even when you are on a holiday. Weight gain will be at bay and instead this will give you more energy and keep your stress levels low.
• Never keep yourself hungry for hours and then eat at one go. This will not help you keep your calorie levels low rather it will further increase them.
• Don’t focus only on food.Divet your minds to the other options of enjoyment you have. Try and take your mind off food. Follow the same eating habits you follow at home, if you don’t want to put on weight.
• Don’t spoil your holiday by choosing to eat what you don’t enjoy. Eat foods the taste of which you actually relish. Just be cautious about over eating.
• Drink a fair amount of water or other unsweetened beverage before each meal, as well as during and between them. This will help you keep full and avoid unnecessary eating.
• Chewing more slowly fills you up with less food. Don’t be in a hurry while eating food. Always relish the food you eat. Don’t just eat for the sake of eating.
• Try an avoid food cravings. If you can’t avoid them, the best way to fight back is to be prepared with a plan for an alternative activity to eating.
• When dinner is served buffet-style, use the smallest plate. It is advisable to limit your helpings to one.
• Your food plate should be loaded with more veggies and turkey (protein) instead of the starches and crabs
If you follow a sensible diet and exercise plan, the chances of gaining weight are less, even then if you gain, don’t worry you will be able to get rid off the extra kilos shortly after you back home.
